Black Unity Bike Ride
Black Unity Bike Ride is more than a ride — it’s a movement. Born on the streets of London, we’ve grown into a nationwide and international celebration of Black empowerment, unity, and joy on two wheels.
From our 6th annual Carnival on Bikes in London to our first-ever ride in Manchester, we’re connecting communities across the UK — and we’re just getting started.
And the movement doesn’t stop here. Through BUBR Africa, we’ve taken the spirit of the ride across the continent — with past trips to Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa and Sengal. In 2027, we head to Jamaica and Kenya, continuing our mission to connect the diaspora through cycling, culture and purpose.
Wherever you ride — whether you're a regular cyclist or just getting started — if you believe in unity, empowerment, and love, you're already part of the journey.
One movement. Many cities. Bound by unity. Powered by us.
WHY DOES BUBR EXIST?
- There is under-representation of Black cyclists at all levels of the sport within the public domain, from elite level to grassroots.
- According to Sport England data, only 27% of U.K. Black communities participate in cycling – which is lower than nearly all other ethnicity groupings. When it comes to all sporting activity, Black communities have the lowest level of participation across all ethnicity groups at 49%.
- BUBR provides a safe space where cyclists and riders from diverse backgrounds can feel welcomed and also inspired to get active and remain so.
