WHO IS BEHIND BUBR?

Since 2020 Black Unity Bike Ride (BUBR) has inspired over 10,000 registered participants from Black communities to lead active and healthier lives via cycling wellbeing activations. BUBR registered as an independent charity on 29th April 2024 and is run by a small team of volunteers and freelancers. 

BUBR is a unique, organic and authentic movement that is trusted, valued and admired by a growing community of stakeholders. We have built a reputation of high-quality execution, empowerment and inclusivity and we live by our values of Unity, Empowerment and Love.

WHAT IS BUBR?

Annual Ride – Dubbed “Carnival on Bikes” these community rides celebrate diversity and promote active lifestyles. The rides take place in London, Manchester and Birmingham (from 2026).

BUBR AFRICA

Annual fundraising cycling trips to different African nations, including Ghana, Rwanda and South Africa to date. We annually fundraise at least £10,000 for a grassroots cycling charity in each nation delivering positive social impact

To inspire, empower, and enable Black communities to embrace cycling as a pathway to healthier and more active lives, while fostering unity and social impact.

BUBR HISTORY

The BUBR concept was conceived by community cycling collective Team ORIGIN on 16th July 2020. Just 15 days later, on Saturday 1st August 2020 we launched the inaugural BUBR event which led to a historical European first – where 1,500 Black people aged 8-68 rode a bike in solidarity through London on Black Pound Day.
