Annual Carnival on Bikes
BUBR launched in 2020 and focuses on inspiring the Black community to live active lives via the sport of cycling. BUBR registered as an independent charity on 29th April 2024. To date, we have established an organic and authentic brand that is trusted and valued by its community. Our work to date has increased ethnic diversity within the sport of cycling and inspired many within the Black community to prioritise their well-being.
BUBR produces the largest annual Black community bike ride in Europe, cycling training sessions at the Olympic Velodrome in east London and annual international cycling tours (Accra 2023, Kigali 2024 and Cape Town & Atlanta for 2025).
All funds raised will contribute towards the direct costs related to the work we do for the community we serve.
Pedalling with Purpose
BUBR is proud to announce our latest initiative: a 500km+ charity ride raising £10,000 for two outstanding South African organizations - Bonga Cycling Academy and Khaltsha Cycles. These grassroots NGOs are transforming lives through cycling in underserved communities, and we're riding to support their vital work.
Bonga Cycling Academy empowers disadvantaged youth through cycling programs that teach valuable life skills, build confidence, and foster teamwork. Khaltsha Cycles creates opportunities by providing bicycles, repair training, and safe spaces for young people to grow. Together, these organizations are pedaling change in South Africa.
Since launching in 2020, BUBR has become a trusted voice inspiring the Black community to embrace active lifestyles through cycling. Now registered as an independent charity (29th April 2024), we continue breaking barriers in the sport while prioritizing community well-being.
This challenge reflects our core values of Unity, Empowerment and Love in action. Every kilometer we ride and every pound we raise will directly support these life-changing programs.
