Black Unity Bike Ride 2025 Brings The Vibe

The sixth annual Black Unity Bike Ride (BUBR) lit up London on 2 August 2025, transforming the city into a vibrant celebration of community, pride, and movement. Dubbed the “Carnival on Bikes,” the 17-mile ride from East to South London is more than just a cycling event—it is a powerful expression of Black joy and solidarity.
A rider and valued member of the BUBR volunteer team, Jordan Hallpike, captured the spirit of the day in a poignant Instagram post, describing a silent moment of connection with a woman watching the ride: “Her eyes tracked the sea of Black joy... and we both knew exactly what it meant.” These moments of pride and unity were echoed by many participants, young and old.
The event’s success is a testament to the vision of founder Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa, whose leadership and dedication have made BUBR the largest annual Black community bike ride in Europe. Supported by an army of volunteers, marshals, DJs, food vendors, and sponsors, BUBR continues to grow in scale and impact.
As the peloton snaked past London’s landmarks, it carried with it a message: Yes we can. Yes we did. Again.
